With a teenager to keep her humble and a Ten-year-old to chase,
she delights in laughing with them...

Katie has always had a passion for events and design. In her previous career, she spent her free time arranging all the details and cooking for her friends' parties. After ten years  of nursing, she decided to follow her heart and go to pastry school. A true lover of artisan bread and crème brûlée, she enjoyed the artistry of becoming a baker but knew she wanted more. She found her dream job as an event designer for a nationally awarded catering company serving both corporate and social clients. With a passion for wine and Virginia's local vineyards, she made the leap, and Katie Rose was born.


As the mother of two boys, Katie spends her off time debating superheroes and racecars. With a teenager to keep her humble and a ten-year-old to chase, she delights in laughing with them and experiencing life through their eyes. She can often be found cheering them on at basketball games, wrestling matches, and Latin Certamen competitions. She and her fiancé enjoy the DC arts scene and are friends of Rorschach Theatre. She enjoys playing in her meager garden and is a huge supporter of local farms. She is an avid reader and completely addicted to strong coffee and dark chocolate. She loves bold red wines and believes there is always a reason for champagne!


Katie spent two years serving as Vice President for the Capital Area Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and three years as Chair for the Events Committee. She currently serves as the Vice Chair for Business for Oyster Adams Bilingual School. She enjoys returning to Stratford University as a guest lecturer in Catering Management, Event Planning, and Dining Service. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW), the International Society of Event Specialists (ISES), the Special Event Sites Marketing Alliance (SESMA), and the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE).
